Negotiating the Best Deal

 

  • Negotiate up from the invoice, not down from the MSRP or sticker price on a new vehicle. 

  • On a used vehicle, negotiate wholesale value, not down from retail value.

  • Always talk total price, not monthly payment. It will be much more difficult for someone to sell you a more expensive car than the one you originally intended to buy.

  • Check with OECU for lower priced deals on items such as GAP Insurance, Vehicle Service Agreements, and Credit Life.

  • Always know the current manufacturers rebates and/or incentives before visiting the dealership.
